Cynthia Hedge-Morrell on the Issues Facing New Orleans

Leading the Fight against Crime

Since she first began serving on the New Orleans City Council for district D in 2005, Cynthia Hedge-Morrell has fought for higher pay for police, fire fighters and EMS.  Cynthia has also fought for increased qualifications for these critical city personnel. She has also secured funding for the rebuilding of the 5th and 7th District Police Station at historic sites.

Hedge-Morrell’s commitment to public safety in her district is evident in all she does for the citizens of District D every day.

Repairing Infrastructure and Rebuilding Neighborhoods

Since Cynthia Hedge-Morrell became the Council Woman for District D, miles of streets have been resurfaced and rebuilt.  Cynthia has led the efforts to redevelop Gentilly Woods Shopping Center and the Lakeforest Plaza, and fought for the rebuilding and expansion of Norman Mayer Library.

Cynthia fights for the issues that matter most to the people of District D. She is dedicated to the issues that make a difference in your daily life.
