About Cynthia Hedge-Morrell
Council Woman Cynthia Hedge-Morrell brings a wide variety of experiences to her job on the New Orleans City Council, both in business and in public service. After her successes in marketing, construction, and thoroughbred racing and breeding, Hedge-Morrell served the Orleans Parish Public Schools for 29 years as a teacher and principal including McDonough 15 and NOCCA Academy.
Cynthia is a lifelong resident of New Orleans and has served as a Member of the Orleans Parish Democratic Executive Committee and Louisiana Democratic State Central Committee, as well as a Board Trustee for the Center for Development and Learning and a Board member of Holy Cross. Hedge-Morrell is a graduate of Xavier Prep, UNO, and Loyola. She has been married for 42 years to Arthur Morrell, also a public servant, and together they have 4 sons and 7 grandchildren.
